OBI has completed works on the expansion of MediaCity’s, Arrive flexible workspace concept, within the creative, digital and tech hub’s, 18-storey tower, Blue.
The refurbishment, designed and project managed by OBI, included a re-design and refit of six floors of commercial space, providing 55,000 sq ft of workspace which can cater for two up to 50 people.
Works included fully fitted ‘Plug and Play’ suites, a social hub located on the 10th floor with a café and breakout spaces, as well as sleep pods and a state-of-the-art podcast booth accessible to customers of Arrive.
The reception area was also re-fitted with the existing space improved to include new digital wall, speed gates, virtual office post boxes and a waiting area.
Chris Reay, MediaCity Property Director said: “The pandemic has really fuelled the demand for flexible workspace. Small to medium sized businesses want the flexibility to scale up and down in response to demand and Arrive offers this solution. In recent weeks we’ve seen a flurry of new occupiers move into Blue as well as existing customers taking more space and expanding to Blue.”
Richard Lace, Transaction and Asset Management at OBI said: “As businesses adjust to new agile ways of working, flexible and fully fitted workspaces, where businesses can collaborate and thrive are proving popular. The launch of Arrive at Blue is the perfect addition to MediaCity and it’s been great to work with MediaCity on the project, delivering a collection of services to reposition the workspace.”
The building comprises 18 storeys of prime commercial workspace and is home to several tech, media, and creative design brands, with existing tenants including Huawei, PassMeFast and BlueJay.
Having completed the project in Blue, Peel Media, supported by OBI, have moved on to delivering Arrive in Tomorrow. This will provide further fully fitted and furnished suites, with a new ground floor café, business lounge and meeting space.
