Sports injury and women’s wellness specialists, Therapy First has opened new physiotherapy treatment rooms in MediaCity’s Blue Tower to offer a range of musculoskeletal based services to the creative, tech and digital community and its residents.
The physiotherapy company, based on the 13th floor of Arrive Blue, established more than 10 years ago by Jaz Siuda aims to help people carrying discomfort in their bodies after she suffered chronic pain as a child.
Having grown up with the condition scoliosis, or curvature of the spine, Jaz puts her passion for physio down to how it transformed her own life and strengthened her body to the extent that her condition no longer causes her pain.
Jaz explained: “I understand how physiotherapy can work in so many ways, even down to simple tweaks to how we carry ourselves, the body can relearn how to optimise itself. My own experience is proof of this and it’s what led me to train as a physiotherapist.”
Jaz is continually developing her skills and has recently become a registered pelvic obstetric and hypopressive trainer so that she can offer services that support women’s health, especially in relation to the menopause.
“Pilates and hypopressives can unlock so many benefits, especially for women going through menopause and we are developing a range of classes and services that will help to manage the downsides, such as anxiety, weak pelvic floor issues and even depression.”
