dock10, the leading media services provider based at MediaCityUK, announces today that it is one of the ten finalists in the IBC2015 Innovation Awards. dock10 has been shortlisted in the Content Management category for its new remote ingest solution ‘field dock’. Launched earlier this year field dock is fully integrated with Avid® Interplay®.
The award ceremony, which will take place at the exhibition in September, celebrates companies who have demonstrated innovation through its technology partnerships.
Using Avid’s Connectivity Toolkit, the new service, which was jointly developed with dock10’s partner Limecraft, enables a speedier and more efficient option in the shoot to edit process by facilitating location-based media management and file ingest over IP. Once content has been received, clients are able to access dock10’s full range of services including its industry leading post production, a full range of connectivity options and remote production tools such as Avid MediaCentral™ | UX to view, log and edit their material.
field dock is part of dock10’s on-going investment in breaking down the traditional geographical barriers to advance collaboration, flexibility and speed in production workflows.
The IBC Awards committee states, “dock10 has rapidly developed into one of the most efficient production and post production powerhouses in the UK. It has always encouraged collaborative and remote working, and its implementation of field dock, which allows creative teams to connect into its post network from locations or anywhere else they choose, earns it the fourth nomination in this category.”
Mark Senior, Chief Executive comments: “dock10 is very proud to have been shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious IBC Innovation Awards. It is a real testament to the teams at dock10, Avid and Limecraft who have worked on the project and demonstrates how dock10 is always looking to push the boundaries of technology in order to help our clients do what they do best – create and manage great content.”
Other companies in the Content Management category include Disney/ABC Television Group, ESPN and SBS Broadcasting.
