Fast growing EdTech firm inspiring students into tech careers relocates to leading digital innovation hub, The Landing
Dicey Tech combines 3D printing with electronics and software to teach pupils both soft and technical skills
A Greater Manchester EdTech company has revealed plans to expand after relocating to MediaCityUK-based digital innovation hub, The Landing.
Fast growing Dicey Tech aims to bridge the gap between education and the tech sector by helping to inspire young people into STEM careers through engaging and creative learning experiences that develop tech skills and inspire career choices.
Founded by former University of Manchester students, Alex Alexandrescu and Sofiane Bebert, the business works with several industry leaders to deliver curriculum and virtual bootcamps for secondary school pupils to teach both soft and technical skills, helping to plug the digital skills gap.
The company blends the digital with physical, creating projects that combine 3D printing with electronics, and software.
They deliver all learning and content resources through an innovative learning platform, where teachers can develop the latest in tech skills, manage their classrooms, and ensure students are kept abreast of technological changes that may impact their career choices as they move through education.
As Dicey Tech prepares for further growth in 2021, it has relocated to The Landing from Manchester Science Park.
The move to The Landing, which is centrally located within the heart of Salford’s innovation district, will allow Dicey Tech to continue to develop and support its ambitions for growth.
Alex said: “We are a young company with innovative ideas and a fresh approach to education. Our time at Manchester Science Park has been rewarding and it is now time for a new chapter in our development.
“We want to give young people an insight into the careers of the future through interactive experiences and working with leaders in the industry through our project-based learning platform.
“Technology across all industries is advancing at such a speed that the current education system cannot keep up and is often out of date in terms of equipping learners with relevant skills, knowledge, and understanding of different career pathways.
“By working with young people in a school environment we can make sure they have got access to the skills that will be needed in the world of work.
“Our move to The Landing gives us a fantastic base to work with leaders in innovation, grow our platform and collaborate with the innovative companies that are based here.”
Mo Isap, CEO of IN4.0 Group, said: “The EdTech market is a diverse and rapidly growing industry which will play an important role in upskilling the next generation.
“We’ve seen how the pandemic has forced major changes in education at every level, from early years to adult learning and career development and has accelerated the adoption of digital technology in education.
“The Landing will play a key role in working with companies in this sector across the region.
“Dicey Tech is a brilliant example of an innovative and growing EdTech company and is a fantastic addition to our SME community and I am confident they will benefit from the collaborative environment within our innovation space.”
