A raft of well-known faces turned out to support Adam Thomas of Emmerdale and I’m a Celebrity… fame, and his business partner Scott Graham at the official opening of their new residency – The Spinn at Box on the Docks
It’s Adam and Scott’s first foray into launching a residency concept following the success of their first restaurant in Gatley – where they went to school and became childhood friends.
As part of the launch activity Adam and Scott gave away 100 free burgers to MediaCity’s residents and workers and later served up Spinn favourites the Burn-HAM burger and Cajun glazed fries to Corrie stars who made the short walk from the Coronation Street Studios including Alan Hansal, Lucy Fallon, Georgia Foote and Chris Bisson.
Brother Scott Thomas and friends from the Emmerdale and Hollyoaks cast also added some glamour to the launch night, including Chelsey Healy, Danny Miller, Isabel Hodgins, whilst Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher and BBC Breakfast’s Mike Bushell enjoyed a Strictly Come Dancing reunion over a burger or two.
The celebs alongside other guests from across MediaCity enjoyed Scott and Adam’s warm hospitality in the socially distanced, art adorned dining pods positioned in MediaCityUK’s award winning gardens including local artist, Nick Chaffe’s iconic ‘Love Chapel’ and Sally Gilford’s psychedelic disco and holographic themed greenhouse, complete with glitterball.
During the launch Adam also revealed an exciting collaboration with Salford’s successful family run brewery Seven Bro7hers who also recently launched its beerhouse at MediaCityUK.
The Spinn at Box on the Docks’ will run until 8th August, initially opening Thursdays to Sundays before extending to seven days. The menu will include, The Spinn’s mouth-watering selection of burgers, including the now famous ‘BURN-ham’ featuring Oh My Glaze’s well known Scotch Bonnet sauce, as well as vegetarian and vegan options, independent craft beer including the Spinn special and frozen daiquiris will also be on tap. Earlier on in the day, coffee by independent Allpress and pastries by Batard Bakehouse will be available.
Since launching Box On The Docks last year to help support local artists and the hospitality industry through the pandemic, the concept has grown from to strength to strength – safely attracting thousands of diners as well as acting as an immersive art trail throughout the winter months. This summer, BOTD’s 30 sheds and greenhouses have been re-vamped to create a fresh summer vibe and even more outdoor seating has been installed to safely accommodate even more diners.
