The Alchemist expands with new lavish venue at MediaCityUK
MediaCityUK can reveal that The Alchemist will be opening a beautifully designed, purpose-built venue within the heart of the city, offering its business community, students, residents and visitors another impressive place in which to eat and drink.
The venue will be located adjacent to the expansive waterfront (on the walkway between MediaCityUK and The Lowry Outlet) and will have floor to ceiling glazing (and external terrace/deck over the water) windows offering wonderful views across the whole site, including the new home for ITV’s Coronation Street.
Designed by Manchester based Reid Architects the building is 450 square metres/4,850 square feet seating 100 dining covers, seated bar covers: 45 and terrace covers: 65.
The Alchemist at MediaCityUK will follow openings planned for Liverpool, Birmingham and Alderley Edge this year.
Stephen Wild, managing director, MediaCityUK said: “The Alchemist quickly made its mark in Manchester and is distinguished for its stylish yet inviting interiors, creative mixologists and varied food menu – so we are delighted they’ll be expanding their brand here at MediaCityUK. The community here is constantly evolving and it’s vital to have a diverse, high quality offering of bars and restaurants”.
Simon Potts, managing director, The Alchemist said: “I’m delighted that The Alchemist will be opening in MediaCityUK and hugely excited to be creating a bespoke venue (in conjunction with Peel) from the ground up which will reflect the vibrancy and innovation for which MediaCityUK has become renowned”.
Simon Reid, from Reid Architects said: “We are pleased that our work is recognised as having the right creative quality for this key site on the MediaCityUK waterfront. It has been very rewarding to work closely with the teams from MediaCityUK and Living Ventures to deliver this unique project”.
